A3 - Smile

Metaphor of a smile.

Restrictions were: human, smiley faces, animals, toys.

Ok, so this..I wouldn't know if it fits the requirements. But it is a shot that would definitely make me smile. ^^
(My boyfriend wearing a Mickey Mouse shirt..of which I have the Minnie Mouse version)

Fireworks! (taken from my SYOG closing ceremony post)

Traditional Kopi (in this case, Teh) + Kaya breakfast. Yummy!

Now, for the following series, I planned for it for a long time:
To have a heart-shaped cute cupcake and have a human figure there to 'offer' the cupcake to the viewer - sorta signifying the love of sharing between friends/couples etc.

Next up, a heart-shaped egg for breakfast! Yummy with lotsa warm & fuzzy feeling in the morning!

Speaking of smile, I have also posted a submission for an online competition here.

It was my first contest!

A3 - Zoom

A3 - Close Up

The close-up assignment was supposed to be shots of subjects such that they appear abstract - to be unrecognisable.

Here's my first attempt: at a carpark gantry.
But I suppose it's not abstract enough because I think people can still tell what it is.

Another try.

And this. I liked this one better and my group liked it too, so I think I'll be using this for my final submission.

A3 - Perspective

I suppose we have learnt that there are many kinds of perspective shots, so it was initially quite confusing to shoot this. After consulting Miss Jing during class, she said that the shots she was looking for were those that showed objects diminishing in size as their distances from the camera increases, and preferably the same object to show the differences more correctly.

Here are my tries:

At NTU:

At the railway station. My critique group liked this, but comments were that it's probably better to shoot it in day time so that the colours will be warmer.

And so, I tried:

Week 3 In-Class

For this class, we practiced on perspective. Playing around with focal length and zoom.
The following pictures display this.

Standing closer to the subject versus...

..zooming in.
If you notice, the Burberry bag at the back 'seems' to look nearer and bigger when we zoom in!

We also played around with zoom shots to practice for our assignment 3.
